Ukrainian families arriving in our neighborhood

As some of you may know, my parents live in Mehun sur Yevre located between the department's two main cities of the "Cher" department, Vierzon and Bourges, and about 150 miles south of Paris.

I am fortunate that the department is one of the most active in France in helping Ukrainian refugees. Three days ago, the Mayor of Vierzon went to their sister city in Poland and came back with six families. Yesterday, the city of Bourges brought back 160 people.

I went yesterday to Bourges to find out what was done. It was a very impressive organization. A local bus company provided two buses to go to Poland. The eight bus drivers gave their time to go there and drive 3,000 km. A hotel chain owner is providing rooms for everyone for a week. All local supermarket chains are providing free food!

The department has brought doctors, nurses, translators, and government work to take care of all their visas and paperwork on the spots! And everything was organized with only a few days' notice. Very impressive.

What was fantastic for me is that, under one roof, I got all my answers validated
