After a few days of catching up on the time zone, it was time to get going and start learning about the process of legally bringing a Ukrainian refugee into France.

First, due to the time zone between Seattle and Paris (8 hours until next week. Will become 9 hours next weekend), I start working at 4 pm until 1 am) so I happen to have most of the day to gather information
So far, I have found out the following:
The refugee will need to have a biometric passport
Once arriving in France, you will need to register the family to the "Prefecture" of the given department. As I am in the "Cher" department, the "Prefecture" is Bourges
The Prefecture office will register the family within their system and will then be given the following
A working permit is renewable every six months
A health care coverage for the entire family
An allocation (called APL) to cover the cost for their rent
Having any kid(s) registered into the french school system
I still need to figure out the amount given for the APL, so when renting an apartment for them, I will have a better idea of how much, if any, I will need to pay
